Team structure and Organizational chart

ASPiRE has a clear organizational structure, with well-defined roles and a hierarchy that ensure the team’s smooth and efficient operation. At the top are the Team Leader and the Project Manager, who maintain continuous communication and collaboration with the heads of the individual sub-teams to coordinate activities. Each sub-team has specific, specialized responsibilities, contributing with accuracy and consistency to the achievement of ASPiRE’s technical objectives.

Management

Το Management is one of ASPiRE’s core pillars, as it is responsible for the team’s strategic coordination and overall operation. It consists of the Team Leader and the Project Manager, whose collaboration ensures effective communication among members and sub-teams, a smooth workflow, and the achievement of shared goals.

The Team Leader acts as the central link between the team and the University of Western Macedonia. They provide guidance on critical matters, oversee the project’s strategic direction, and handle the legal aspects of the team’s operations. At the same time, they officially represent ASPiRE, securing the support and partnerships necessary for its development.

The Project Manager, on the other hand, is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the project’s progress, keeping timelines on track, and supporting the sub-teams on an organizational level. They serve as the team’s operational hub, tracking the progress of individual tasks and identifying potential areas for improvement.

Construction

The Construction sub-team is responsible for the design, analysis, and manufacturing of the final product. Its work is based on systematic study, precise engineering design, and technical implementation, aiming to produce structures that fully meet the requirements of each competition.

The process begins with designing the components in SolidWorks, enabling detailed modeling and thorough verification of every aspect of the product’s geometry. The models are then analyzed in ANSYS, where the team evaluates critical parameters such as mechanical tolerances, structural integrity, and aerodynamic performance.

Once the design and analysis stages are completed, the sub-team moves on to manufacturing and assembly. In collaboration with external partners, the components are manufactured according to the technical specifications. The sub-team then oversees and actively participates in the assembly of the product, ensuring quality, precision, and the proper functionality of every individual element.

Avionics

The Avionics sub-team is responsible for the electronic support, control, and data acquisition of each project. It designs and manufactures printed circuit boards (PCBs) for functions such as power distribution, sensor interfacing, and system control.

At the same time, it develops the necessary microcontroller embedded software that ensures the proper operation of the electronic subsystems, the collection of sensor data, and the execution of critical in-flight decisions.

Telemetry also plays a central role within the sub-team, enabling the real-time wireless transmission of data from the vehicle to a ground station. Through transceivers, valuable data are sent and displayed via dedicated software for continuous monitoring and control.

Promotion and Public Relations

The Promotion sub-team is responsible for promoting the team and managing its communication with the broader public, supporters, as well as potential sponsors and partners. It serves as the team’s “external representative” and plays a key role in maintaining its public image and cultivating relationships with individuals and organizations that can actively support its work.

The sub-team’s main objective is to secure sponsorships—both financial and in-kind—in order to cover the budget of each project. Promotion members identify potential sponsors, prepare sponsorship packages and presentations, and handle communication and negotiations. Successfully establishing and maintaining these collaborations is essential for the team’s sustainability and growth.

In parallel, the sub-team manages the team’s social media presence, produces promotional material, and organizes events or outreach activities. Through these actions, it ensures continuous updates and engagement with the community, building a strong support network around the team.
